During the summer of 2018, I had the opportunity to spend 2 weeks in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico working with marine mammals. Our group of 21 veterinarians and veterinary students from across the world had the opportunity to perform physical exams on dolphins, sea lions and manatees, blood draw on sea turtles, diagnostic procedures on dolphins, and interactions with sting rays, nurse sharks, whale sharks and manta rays.
We also got to play tourist for a day and enjoy some time with the dolphins, sea lions and manatees we were working with!
